Glass for Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs)

Substrate Glass for LCDs
Alkali-free glass substrates are used in TFT-LCD panels, which are found in LCD televisions, computer monitors, and cellular phones. Such glass substrates must be extremely high-grade and meet tough requirements for surface precision. Additionally, the required size has expanded to over two meters in length and width. NEG satisfies these market demands by utilizing the overflow process, forming large sheet glass substrates with ultra-smooth surfaces.
Glass Tubing for Cold Cathode Florescent Lamps (CCFL)
We supply precision tubing glass with diameters of just a few millimeters for CCFL. The glass tubing meets exceptionally strict standards of quality to ensure high and uniform luminance along the full length so as to accommodate the trend of larger LCD televisions.
Cell Spacing for LCDs (Micro Rods)
Micro rods are used as gap spacers for liquid crystal cells. They are manufactured by cutting and processing alkali-free monofilament glass. The very precise diameter distribution of micro rods compared with bead-type spacers is a result of the special manufacturing method used to produce these items.
