Glass can be designed to incorporate many desirable properties by modifying its composition and processing. Utilizing features of glass such as heat resistance, outstanding mechanical strength, and electrical properties, NEG offers products for buildings, households, medical use, and beyond.
Glass for Building Materials
NEG provides a wide assortment of unique products for construction applications, drawing on its range of glass materials together with its forming and processing technologies. These products, unique in both function and design, include glass blocks, glass-ceramic building materials, fire-rated glass, and radiation shielding glass.
Glass Blocks
Glass blocks create spaces with soft, varying light. The hollow structure formed of two joint box-shaped pieces of glass and our proprietary construction techniques give the blocks outstanding performance in terms of insulation, sound dampening, crime prevention, and earthquake resistance.
Glass-Ceramic Building Materials – Neopariés, Neopariés Fino, and NeoClad
These products, with their unique, light-reflecting textures and variety of surface structures including curved surfaces, offer design flexibility and lend dynamic expressiveness to buildings. They are more resistant to weather than natural stone and do not absorb water. Because of such characteristics, they are widely employed for building interiors and exteriors and in subway stations and underground concourses.
Fire-Rated Glass – FireLite
FireLite is a unique type of fire-rated glass that can endure intensive heat from fire as well as the thermal shock of water used in firefighting. It passes the rigorous hose stream test required in North America. The clear fire-rated glass facilitates many aspects of firefighting work, including evacuation of people in emergency situations.
Radiation Shielding Glass – LX
Radiation shielding glass is used for windows and protective screens at medical facilities, where X-rays and radioactive materials are often employed. The exceptional radiation shielding characteristics of LX protect medical personnel from radiation. Its high light transmittance features allow good visibility for accurate and speedy diagnoses.
