Glass ferrule is made of borosilicate glass. It has a high dimensional precision and is suitable for single-mode fibers. Glass ferrule needs less polishing than ceramics. It also has polishing properties similar to silica optical fiber, making it highly suitable for PC and AdPC configurations. Its high UV transmittance characteristics facilitate quick fiber fixation using UV-curable adhesive.
