Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Otsu, Shiga, Japan; President: Akira Kishimoto; “NEG”) has agreed to renew a naming rights partnership contract concerning the Lake Biwa Floating School Program* with Shiga Prefecture, and a signing ceremony was held today.

Shiga Prefecture has been seeking naming rights partners to acquire naming rights for prefectural facilities, etc., in order to secure independent financial resources through the effective use of prefectural property, maintain and improve user services and establish a stable operating foundation. Under these circumstances, NEG has been supporting the Lake Biwa Floating School Program as a naming rights partner for 4 years since April 2019, and with the expiry of the contract, NEG decided to extend the contract for another 4 years in order to continue supporting the program.

NEG has long positioned “environment”, “diversity and inclusion” and “community contribution” as its priority themes for CSR and has been conducting its CSR activities accordingly. This program, which is aimed at developing human resources through environmental education for local children in Shiga Prefecture, is in line with NEG’s CSR approach. As a company with its main base in Shiga Prefecture, NEG will continue to support this program through naming rights and contribute to the development of local human resources.
