We seek partners who are able to provide excellent products and services at competitive prices to help us grow our global business.

Basic Procurement Policy

1 Open and fair business dealings

  • We conduct our business in an open manner and give a fair opportunity to suppliers regardless of whether or not we have done business with them before.
  • We select business partners based on fair and impartial evaluation standards.

2 Harmonious mutual prosperity with partners

  • We endeavor to build and enhance our relationship with business partners for mutual prosperity.

3 Compliance with social norms

  • We comply with provisions and spirit of relevant laws and regulations in Japan and overseas.
  • We do not disclose to third parties any confidential information we have learned in business without the consent of our business partners.

4 Environmental consciousness (“green procurement”)

  • In order to build a circular economy, we give priority to eco-friendly products from eco-conscious companies. Furthermore, we are reducing our environmental impact by minimizing the use of packing materials and recycling and reusing packages in our supply chain.

To our business partners—Supply Chain Guidelines

We strive daily to make life better, more comfortable and to achieve a sustainable society where our products and services unlock the potential of glass.

In order to enhance the performance and efficiency of the entire supply chain, we expect our business partners to understand and implement the following.

1 Competitiveness of purchasing products

Business partners should:

  • Provide products and services with competitive pricing by continuously and aggressively reducing costs, as well as innovative and optimum solutions.
  • Provide products and services with superior quality, reliable delivery and a stable supply system.
  • Deal rapidly and flexibly and shorten procurement lead-time to respond to changing requirements by customers and markets.

2 Compliance with laws, regulations and social norms

Business partners should observe legal and social norms in their own areas or countries, comply with provisions and spirit of international relevant laws and regulations, and:

  • Comply with laws and regulations
  • Respect human rights
  • Prohibit discrimination, forced or child labor
  • Ensure compliance with international trade code and regulations
  • Prevent bribery, corruption and any other unfair business practices

3 Environmental preservation and operational safety

Business partners should:

  • Conduct business operations and supply products and services in environmentally conscious ways
  • Prevent and take measures against accidents and occupational injuries during business operations or engineering works

4 Appropriate information security

Business partners should:

  • Keep information gained through business dealings under strict control, and protect confidential information from leaks
  • Not disclose to third parties any information gained through business without our approval

5 Sound corporate management

Business partners should:

  • Promote sound corporate management and fair business practices to maintain and build collaborative trusting business relationships.
  • Disclose information as appropriate about quality assurance systems, environmental management, business continuity plans for disasters, and financial summaries explaining business and corporate performance.

6 Policies regarding “conflict minerals”

We place great importance on responsible procurement practices aimed at mitigating the risk of sourcing so-called “conflict minerals.” (These are minerals such as tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold, which may, either directly or indirectly, finance armed groups abetting human rights violations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and adjoining countries.)
We are working together with our business partners to eliminate materials or parts containing “conflict minerals” from the supply chain by enhancing supply chain transparency.
