“Clear and colorless”
the holy grail of zero-CTE
glass-ceramics
Cerapure™ opens up new potential for a variety of applications such as cooktops, advanced electronics and communication devices, semiconductors, and medical equipment. NEG’s development of colorless, super-heat-resistant glass-ceramics is a truly revolutionary breakthrough, and is the latest of many achievements in the company’s long history, coming some 60 years after our first successful development of low-expansion glass-ceramics.
From the kitchen to the lab:
Cerapure’s many capabilities
Cerapure™ revolutionizes kitchen design.
Because Cerapure™ can be printed in white and other previously impossible light colors, it allows you to offer homeowners new cooktop designs in colors that feel cleaner and brighter, and match the walls, cupboards, etc. – a major advantage in an environment where a cooktop has a surprisingly large impact on the perceived atmosphere of the whole room.
Outstanding thermal shock resistance
Cerapure™ can withstand thermal shock up to 800°C (1,472°F) without cracking, unlike regular glass, which fails under sudden heating and cooling.
A Cerapure™ cooktop lets your customers cook on high heat without worrying about spilling water on the cooktop surface.
Why you should choose Cerapure™
With Cerapure™, NEG has developed a glass-ceramics that is totally colorless, unlike regular glass-ceramics. Normally, the controlled crystallization process used to make low-expansion, heat-shock-resistant glass-ceramics requires certain elements that inevitably colorize, thus colorless glass ceramic was considered impossible. But we at NEG have finally found the holy grail – a way to crystallize glass without those elements. The result is Cerapure™, a completely clear and colorless zero-CTE glass-ceramics.
