Our Paper Recognized as Top Downloaded Paper 2018–2019

Recently, the paper written by Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. regarding the all-solid-state sodium (Na)-ion secondary battery using our glass-ceramics has been recognized as Top Downloaded Paper 2018–2019 in the Journal of the American Ceramic Society, one of the most prestigious journals in the field of ceramics and glass.

We have long worked on the development of an all-solid-state Na-ion secondary battery using glass-ceramics by applying a variety of technologies we have accumulated as a manufacturer of special glass (*1). In May 2019, the results of such efforts were compiled into the paper, “Pressureless all‐solid‐state sodium‐ion battery consisting of sodium iron pyrophosphate glass‐ceramic cathode and β″‐alumina solid electrolyte composite,” (*2), which was contributed to the Journal of the American Ceramic Society.

We were recently notified by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., which publishes the journal, that the paper was one of the most read papers in the 12 months from its first publication date. Hereafter, we will continue to endeavor to accelerate practical application of next-generation secondary batteries to help solve conventional challenges.
