Efforts Toward Carbon Neutrality – International Women’s Day Conference

On March 8, 2025, the International Women’s Day Conference hosted by the All India Glass Manufacturer’s Federation (AIGMF) took place in Kaziranga (Assam), a UNESCO World Heritage site. The conference focused on the theme of “Women in Glass Manufacturing”, featuring technical presentations and discussions on industry development.

At this event, Ms. Yuki Uno, Sales Manager, Glass Fiber Business Division, Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd., gave a presentation on “Efforts Toward Sustainable Glass Manufacturing”. She introduced advanced technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact, including oxy-fuel combustion technology, hydrogen fuel technology, electric melting technology, and carbon-neutral glass melting furnace technology. The presentation was joined by Mr. Hitoshi Kanaya, Senior Vice President, and Mr. Yoshio Iwatsubo, Sales Engineer & Furnace Consultant, who contributed to the discussion on the pathway toward a sustainable glass industry.

The conference brought together over 80 participants from around the world, covering a wide range of topics such as sustainability, diversity promotion, and the latest advancements in the glass industry. Presentations were given by women speakers from India, Indonesia, Japan, the United States, and Uganda, sharing insights on the role of women in the glass industry and the sector’s commitment to sustainable development.

Moving forward, we will continue to promote technology development for carbon neutrality and contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.
