Molten Glass Level Control - The Key to Quality Improvement

Precise molten glass level control is essential for maintaining glass quality during the melting process. We offer a range of levelers, including non-contact radar, probe, and bubbler types, providing the optimal measurement method for the specific glass composition and furnace design. This helps ensure stable operation and improved product quality.

Lineup

Probe type glass leveler

Probe type glass leveler

Measurement principle

  • A voltage is applied between the molten glass and a probe. The molten glass level is identified by utilizing the drop in resistance that occurs when the probe moves vertically and makes contact with the molten glass.

Features

  • High reliability
  • Stable measurements are realized even at high temperatures.
measurement principle of bubbler type glass leveler

Bubbler type glass leveler

Measurement principle

  • Bubbles are released from the tip of a nozzle inserted into the molten glass, and the pressure difference (relative to atmospheric pressure) is measured when the bubbles detach. The level is measured by taking advantage of the way the pressure difference changes depending on the depth of the molten glass.

Features

  • High airtightness
  • The absence of a drive unit makes it easy to seal the inside of the furnace.
radar type glass leveler

Radar type glass leveler

Measurement principle

  • Interference between transmitted and reflected waves creates standing waves, and their variation is used to calculate the distance to the reflecting surface.

Features

  • Wide measurement range
  • The system can accurately measure molten glass levels over a wide range, including both low-level and normal operating conditions.
  • Non-contact measurement
  • The non-contact design eliminates issues associated with material selection, corrosion, and regular replacement of components exposed to molten glass.
